Wayfinding Mentorship

with One Stone

Empowered and personalized learning driven by students' passions and purpose.

One Stone’s innovative wayfinding program, Living in Beta, empowers students to explore their passions, drive their learning, and develop tools to live with purpose. The Wayfinding Mentorship courses are designed for microschool leaders and teachers interested in implementing Living in Beta in their school or organization.

Through engagement in scaffolded wayfinding activities and close supportive mentorship, students design relevant experiences that bring  meaning and increased ownership to their learning. Through these empowering, transformative experiences, learners develop a greater sense of identity, belonging, purpose, and direction. During Living in Beta, students test and iterate upon their passions, explore their personal values, and discover their purpose, or “why.”

While mentoring students through the Living in Beta journey does not require any specific disciplinary expertise or skills, it does require a mentor mindset that empowers student-driven learning — moving away from practices where the teacher delivers content, designs experiences, and assesses outcomes. In the Living in Beta program, mentors tap into the interests of their learners and are attentive to their passions, unleashing their creative potential.
