National Microschooling Center's Thursday Bulletin

Hello Microschooling Community!

Growth momentum for the microschooling movement, and the work we’re doing at the Center is leading to advance it, isn’t just holding – it’s gaining.

We reached over 1,000 members last school year, and the number is continuing to climb.

Just this summer alone we’ve had more than 375 founders participate in our in-person training workshops, NMC Training Institute trainings and professional learning cohorts already, most of them new, prelaunch founders getting ready to open to serve students in another month or two. And our supports for already-operating microschool leaders have never been more robust, including the relaunch of Access Point, our learning tool and provider catalog.

Meanwhile, we’re seeing success modernizing laws and regulations around the country, with new proposals being developed in other states right now, that seem destined to support even broader growth in the months and years to come.

Thank you for being part of this exciting movement, and for helping all of this progress be possible.

In this edition: Back to Microschooling event tonight, Democrats for Education Reform promote microschools, new podcast and opportunities for member microschools, plus more!

Podcast on Latest Developments in the Microschool Landscape

Our Don Soifer sits down for a lively and insightful 45 minute discussion about latest developments across today’s microschooling sector on “An Educated Guest” with host Todd Zipper. We are seeing a modernizing of the regulations and regulatory apparatus around the country in different ways, that include business license and zoning approval, that is starting to really support the growth of the microschool sector in valuable ways.

Democrats for Education Reform Hosts Microschooling Webinar

National policy organization Democrats for Education Reform has discovered microschools, and after months of learning and considering, they are starting to show some real enthusiasm for supporting microschool growth.
